red sox win 2007 world series

the first time in my life the red sox won a world series i was 34 years old. the first time in your life the red sox won a world series you were 2 years old. if you know the history of the red sox and their fans that would mean a lot to you. not that you will remember it but you did see the first inning of game 1 in the 2007 mlb world series between the boston red sox and the colorado rockies.

now let’s run down the connections. when the red sox won their first world series in 86 years your parents were living in denver colorado. home of the colorado rockies. your mother was pregnant with you. the red sox beat the st. louis cardinals four games to none. a sweep. in 2007 you watched the first inning of game 1. the red sox beat the colorado rockies four games to none. your mother is pregnant with your younger brother. so every time your mother is pregnant the red sox win the world series.

summer 2007 vacation

you had a great time. we spent two weeks hanging out in Maine. mom found a great house on long lake in naples, Maine. you played in the water, ran around naked most every day and visited lost of family. the first week at the house we had plenty of visitors. first pop-pops and M.A. came to see you, and then nona and poppa came to visit and grammie and gramp’s house was about 20 minutes away from our vacation house so you got to spend plenty of time with them. one of the highlights of the trip was our side-trip to Storyland in New Hampshire. you got to ride the train (four or five times), the antique cars, the tractors, and jump ion a giant bin of plastic balls. it was awesome.

big boy bed

as a parent this is one of those bittersweet moments. sweet that you are growing up and moving out of your crib and bitter because you are growing up and moving out of your crib. we bought you some new sheets for the new bed. planes, animals and sports gear. freedom to get out of bed when you want presents new challenges for all of us. of course it must be difficult getting out of bed with all of those toys and books sharing the bed with you.

last name

so the other day you pronounced your last name for the first time. considering that we share that name i would say that’s worth mentioning here. any body new to the name st.cyr finds the name challenging as did you. you pronounced it saint sire. pretty good first try. we’ll work on it, becuase you’ll need to edcuate the rest of the population.
