anacortes, wa summer 2008

we just returned from our family vacation. you sure do love the airplanes and airports. we flew to seattle washington and then drove a car to anacortes washington to spend a week relaxing and visiting your cousins tanner, ava, and burke along with their parents michele and jason. as you and ava are the same age you played together most of the time and of course got in each others faces a few times. after anacortes we spent a few days in the big city of seattle. we visited the space needle, the chidlren’s museum, pike place market, pioneer square, and rode the monorail a few times. throughout the entire trip you were taking pictures to show your friends back in sarasota. the photos were amazing. you might have a future as a photographer.

summer 2007 vacation

you had a great time. we spent two weeks hanging out in Maine. mom found a great house on long lake in naples, Maine. you played in the water, ran around naked most every day and visited lost of family. the first week at the house we had plenty of visitors. first pop-pops and M.A. came to see you, and then nona and poppa came to visit and grammie and gramp’s house was about 20 minutes away from our vacation house so you got to spend plenty of time with them. one of the highlights of the trip was our side-trip to Storyland in New Hampshire. you got to ride the train (four or five times), the antique cars, the tractors, and jump ion a giant bin of plastic balls. it was awesome.

another trip

on sunday you return from another trip. this time to boston. you got to see some of mom & dad’s friends and nonna and poppa. you did get a little sick, maybe from some mac and cheese that i gave you on friday when we had lunch with stephani finks.

chiacgo, part 3

it’s gotta by the name. the last name. once again as we were going through security at denver international airport we were flagged for a security search. of course we weren’t carrying anything illegal, just a presentation we were making to a client in chicago, a couple of magazines, and a wet diaper. well, jack, you just better get use to it. having an obscure, but beautiful, last name like St. Cyr will cause you trouble from time to time in your life. we can never really know what’s causing these security checks, but it must have something to do with the ccombination of a flight to chicago (this didn’t happen when we flew back to boston just a few weeks prior), the airline, and our last name. other theories are welcome.

we did have a good trip to chicago. jack spent the morning of our presentation with cathleen, a nanny from north shore nannies, a service that was recommended to us by friends. the presentation went well. the client loved the redesign of their magazine. and that night we all had dinner with jade bannister, a second cousin once removed ( or something like that) at a wonderful little italian restaurant in the neighborhood. on saturday we took jack to visit the robie house, a home designed by egomaniacal architect frank lloyd wright, and then spent the afternoon hanging out in millenium park in downtown chicago. sunday morning we flew back to denver to settle in for the fall. our next travels will take us to jacksonville, FL for christmas with jack’s dad’s family.
