christmas 2006

what a crazy christmas vacation. we went to visit poppops and MA in new york. had a scare with the dogs and stairs. loved the wagon. 80’s rocker billy sheehan made you cry with his elephant sounds. drove by mom’s childhood home. played at a mcdonald’s indoor playground. when we got back to florida we rested for a few days and then went to visit grammie and gramps in ocala. ate too much chocolate. loved the truck. played ball with the cousins. lots of rides in the golf cart.

happy birthday again

today we had a birthday party to celebrate your 1st birthday. in attendance was the fajardo family, james and mark, kate (daycare friend) and her mom rhonda, and some other people who i can’t remember at the moment. this time we had brunch-type food. bagels, quiche, juice, more salmon known as lox, and of course cupcakes.

happy 1st birthday jack. i love you so much little one. you are amazing. it has been quite an exciting 1st year watching you grow. for your birthday dinner we had some sushi. okay you ate rice and salmon while mom and i ate sushi. we celebrated with a cupcake and one candle. we opened presents sent from your friends and family. you got some new clothes, including a cool pair of shoes, a radio flyer four-wheel bike, and a mickey mouse fire engine. welcome to year two.

welcome to 2006 jack. things to look forward to. your first birthday. dad’s 36th birthday. mom’s late thirty something birthday. an end to the war in iraq. bigger pieces of food. not only walking more, but running. words. a new season of baseball (next year is here). the possibility of a new address. a third tooth. lower gas prices. a new scott mccloud book. ice cream. the 5th season of 24. real shoes. only 15 years until you can legally drive a car. a new room at daycare. stage 4 diapers. stage 4 baby food. a stronger immune system for all. one year check up. more sleep.

thanksgiving

jack’s first thanksgiving was full of family, fun and food. nona and poppa arrived the sunday before and took care of a fair amount of the cooking, and eating for that matter. other than the traditional turkey meal that week jack also eat vietnamese, pizza, japanese noodles, and plenty of turkey leftovers. okay, maybe jack just had a few noodles, some pizza crust, bits of turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and squash. on the tuesday before thanksgiving jack got to meet uncle sean for the second time, aunt angela, cousins aidan and jared for the first time. of course jack impressed them all with his box pushing, crawling, and grabbing abilities. for christmas jack is taking his one-man show to florida to visit the st.cyr family. now, where’s that johnny mathis christmas album.
