this morning you made a keen observation. as we were watching curious george you noticed a truck with flashing lights in front of the house. of course we went outside to check it out. as it turns out, our neighbor, nick, was having his truck towed. we watched the flatbed tow truck pull the truck onto it’s bed. as the tow truck starting pulling away a car in need of some body work followed as it left the neighborhood. you smartly said “that car needs to be on the tow truck.”
christmas giving
christmas is the holiday of giving. no doubt. this year will probably be the first year that you fully understand the getting of the presents too, but it was clear the other day that you do understand the act of giving. when mom asked you what we should give grammie and gramps for christmas you replied with “um gramps, a saw and grammie, a pancake.” so thoughtful at a young age.
thankful for transportation
this week at daycare you and your friends had a thanksgiving lunch. janelle asked all of the kids to say what they were thankful for. one of your friends said he was thankful for his mommy and daddy. when it was your turn you told your friends you were thankful for monster trucks and airplanes. transportation week had quite an impact on you.
jack’s logic
at ten months of age jack has plenty of toys to stimulate his little brain. toys that make noise (thanks nona), toys that jack has found a way to make noise with them, toys that are books (when he starts reading then they’ll be just books), toys that are soft and cute, toys that are soft and menacing (thanks ken for the alien), and toys that require jack to think, which brings me to the subject of this entry. amongst jack’s toys there is this little yellow container filled with plastics blocks of different shapes. circle, square, triangle, and star. the lid to this container has holes that match the shapes of the blocks. it’s suppose to teach kids about shapes by putting the blocks into the container through the shape holes. jack has a different approach. at first he attempts to put the blocks through the holes. when that doesn’t work jack’s solution is to remove the lid, put the blocks in the container, and put the lid back on the container. there’s more than one solution to a problem.
crawling video
there’s been a lot more crawling in the house lately. and i’m not just talking about kelly and i crawling along the bathroom floor due to a nasty stomach flu. jack’s been crawling all over the place and he’s pretty fast. thus rilla has become a little quicker on her feet. check out the video.
