A Day with Tucker and Carly

Today you had a very special day with Mrs. Schuler, your kindergarten teacher, and her two dogs. First we stopped off at Wendy’s to get you some lunch and then we went to Arlington Park, affectionately known to you as “The House Park.” You and Mrs. Schuler spent the next hour throwing frisbees and balls and playing tug-o-war with the dogs in the dog park area of the park. You had a great time. Too bad we can’t play with the cats, Foxy and Moxie, like that.

A Cold Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we went to Nona and Papa’s home in upstate New York. You’ve often talked about playing in the snow so you were excited about going in the hopes that there would be snow on the ground. Unfortunately there was no snow on the ground, but it did snow one afternoon for about 15 minutes. You did get to see the snow, but just not play in it. However, you did get to play with Tilly, Nona and Papa’s Yellow Lab. You had lots of fun throwing frisbees and stick for her to chase in the fenced-in yard along the side of the house. You also really enjoyed breaking the ice on the edge of the pond near the woods on the other side of the property. You also received a Christmas Thanksgiving gift from your grandparents. A Star Wars lego set from the story of “The Empire Strikes Back.” It was a Luke Skywalker Snow Speeder vehicle with accompanying Wampa snow monster. We’re all thankful for Star Wars and legos.

First Day of Kindergarten

All in all it was a pretty good first day. I can’t say for sure because Mom dropped you off at school. Mom says she didn’t cry, but only she really knows. You looked so cute in your school Polo shirt. Of course you brought home a binder full of paper that is for all of us to look over every night. Some of it is homework for you and some is for your parents.

Meet Your Teacher

This evening all of us went to your new school to meet your kindergarten teacher. Her name is Mrs. Schuler. We spent about an hour checking out the classroom, asking questions, and filling out paperwork. We found your shelf where you’ll put your backpack and we found your desk (that’s where the forms to be filled out by Mom and Dad were). Since the event was a meet your teacher for the entire school there were a lot of kids with their families. You seemed somewhat interested in the whole event, but you were probably thinking about moving on to a new school and missing your old school.
