so this posting might be embarrassing. the toilet training is going well. there are the usual accidents, but you’ve got the hang of it. well done jack. it’s just one of those life skills you need to master.
christmas 2007
what an awesome christmas. you had such a blast. grammie and gramps were here for a few days and then flew to seattle to visit your cousins tanner, ava, and burke. you received some toy trucks and cars. you loved poppops tractor so much a wheel fell off. nona and poppa gave you a cool vinyl playhouse that collapses. other presents included a tractor bike (tricycle), movie: ratatouille, santa brought you a little green car, tools and books
it’s 7 o’clock
big boys sleep in big boy beds. the challenge is to sleep in the big boy bed. we are trying a method that mom learn from a friend who has three boys. we bought you a digital clock and covered up the minute numbers. we drew a large number 7 on a piece of paper and placed it next to the clock. you were not to get out of bed until the hour number on the clock matched (you were learning about matching things at school) the drawn number 7. being the curious monkey that you are you decided to play with the clock on the first night of this experiment. you somehow managed to press the correct buttons to change the hour number to a 7. you came running out into the living room shouting 7 7 7 7 7 7 they match. your mother and i just looked at each other and laughed. nicely done jack.
christmas giving
christmas is the holiday of giving. no doubt. this year will probably be the first year that you fully understand the getting of the presents too, but it was clear the other day that you do understand the act of giving. when mom asked you what we should give grammie and gramps for christmas you replied with “um gramps, a saw and grammie, a pancake.” so thoughtful at a young age.
thankful for transportation
this week at daycare you and your friends had a thanksgiving lunch. janelle asked all of the kids to say what they were thankful for. one of your friends said he was thankful for his mommy and daddy. when it was your turn you told your friends you were thankful for monster trucks and airplanes. transportation week had quite an impact on you.
