today you had your first visit to the dentist. by mom’s account you did great. you received your first cleaning and as a result the dentist gave you a bag of toys. keep brushing.
one where he gets into trouble
as i’ve noted before you love curious george the cartoon on pbs. whenever i ask you which episode you’d like to watch you respond with either “which ever one you want” or “one where he [george] gets into trouble.” the latter somewhat troubles me because you ask for it almost ever time i ask you. this is also troubling because unlike the books, curious george on tv doesn’t actually get into trouble a whole lot. why are you so interested in the few episodes when he does get into trouble. makes a parent wonder.
Obama
Barack Obama became the 44th person to be elected president of the united states of America. And the first African-American to be elected president. This gives me hope for your future.
soccer
you’ve started playing soccer at the YMCA on saturday mornings. the first day you were a little shy about playing. it was a big gym and the were lots of kids there. once you got into it you did great. running fast and kicking the ball at the net. as a group you and the other 4 kids on your team decided to name your team the webslingers. a nickname for the superhero, spiderman. i’m not sure if this is the official name or the unofficial name because on your game schedule you’re on the red team. the second practice was last week. and tomorrow is your first game. your teacher, janelle, is making a special appearance at the game, which you are very excited about. i’ll have to bring the video camera. i just love watching you try new things while having fun. good luck with the game. bend it like beckham.

fay who. tropical storm fay. we’ve had pretty good weather as far as the hurricane season (summer) is concerned. on monday tropical storm fay made it’s way to florida and we decided to pack up the car and drive to ocala to stay at grammy and gramp’s house. mom, tyler and i picked you up at janelle’s and headed out of sarasota. we played i-spy for part of the way and had a great time. you were very excited to get to the grandparents house where there were lots of “new” toys to play with and rooms to explore. we settled into the house, bought some groceries at publix, and watched bob the builder. the next day we went to the pool to get a wireless internet connection to check on the status of the storm since gramp’s satellite tv was off for the summer. mom checked email and dad checked the weather. we decided to head home after lunch. you, mom and tyler slept most of the way home. we made it back home safely to find no damage to the house and went about our normal evening. goodbye fay.
