spring training

Today you, me and gramps went to a spring training game here in Sarasota. Gramps wanted to take us for my birthday and to take you to your first professional baseball game. The Cincinnati Reds are in there last year of holding spring training camp here in Sarasota. The field is only a few minutes drive fromthe house. You had a great time. We watched the game, eat hot dogs (you had a chicken sandwich), soda and of course ice cream in a small Reds helmet.

happy fourth birthday

what a fun day. we had a birthday party with lots of friends from school. reese, rylee, riley, maddox, maddie were all her to celebrate with you. there were lots of balloons including the really long kind that you blow up and let go so they can fly around the back yard. you guys enjoyed chasing them. you shared all you toys with your friends, played in the playground, broke a piñata, ate cake, and of course opened presents. you favorite present of all was a crane truck you received from riley. this all took place on saturday, the day before your birthday. on sunday we met grammie, gramps, michele, and cousin burke at hillsborough state park for another birthday celebration. there was more playing on a playground, swings and bigger slides, presents, and cupcakes, chocolate of course.

happy birthday jack. i love you. enjoy being four.

Christmas 2008

we flew out of Tampa on Christmas Day to San Francisco, CA. we drove down to Sant Cruz to spend a few days with mom’s family. nonna and poppa also came from New York. you had a great time playing with your cousins and playing in their rooms when they were in the family room playing with their new wii system. they had lots of toys to explore. we visited a few playgrounds in Santa Cruz and off we went to the boardwalk. you went on a helicopter ride, a race car ride and the carousel. you really liked the race car the best. you went on it three times. i love seeing you smile and laugh when you are trying something new.

after a few days in the small beach town we headed north to San Francisco for a couple of days before flying home to Sarasota. again we went to a playground  in golden gate park, walked around haight street, and rode on an orange trolley. as we were waiting for the trolley you spotted a toy trolley in the street. you pointed it out to mom and me. i thought it was a piece of trash, a box or something. you insisted it was a toy so i picked it up and now it lives with your other toy cars and trains in your bedroom.

today you made thank you cards for all the wonderful friends and family that gave you Christmas presents. nice work.
